User Groups SoftTec has a policy that when there are at least five (5) like installations in any state, we will start a user group for that state. The user groups meet either one (1) or two (2) time a year at a central location within that state. Currently we have a user's group in Tennessee and Virginia. Our next state to set up a user group is Ohio. We meet with users in Tennessee one time a year, normally in August around the annual Tennessee Juvenile Conference which is held once a year. We have user group meetings in Virginia two (2) times a year, generally in late fall and early summer. We take suggestions, needs, and desires from the users that attend and try to enhance our software product to reflect their needs. Some suggestions from users we immediately program and make part of our software because it's something that was missing. Some suggestions we add to a wish list from users and try to include those as time allows. Not all wish list items actually become a part of JCS. Anyone from any state is welcome to attend our user group meetings. There is no charge and usually the meeting lasts from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. SoftTec furnishes lunch for everyone. Everyone is responsible for their own travel and motel expenses. Please let us know if you would like to attend a user's group meeting this year. We would enjoy having you attend and be our guest, bring a friend with you. SoftTec gives an award to the JCS Super User of the Year to some unsuspecting user during the meeting. This award singles out one individual that has used the software in one or more ways that has helped other staff or locations realize new benefits of the program.
